Scottish Study Aims To Prove Zinc Affects Metabolism

Researchers over at the highly respected University of Rowett Institute of Nutrition in Aberdeen in Scotland, United Kingdom are searching for some one hundred or so volunteers for a project which will attempt to clinically research the various effects of Zinc in the diet as well as how exactly it affects the human metabolism. All in all, this is due to the fact that according to the WTO, at least thirty percent of the population of Planet Earth has various forms of Zinc deficiencies. As an aside, Zinc has been linked to inmproved immune statem functioning as well according to some research.
This may sometimes result in delayed puberty as well as other strange systems too. more details can be found on the Health and medical news Blog.
The scientists doing the study will be using technology that will allow them to measure chemical changes that are taking place in the body from consuming different amounts of zinc that is in foods according to Dr. John Beattie the head of the study.
Beattie stated that the varying zinc levels are like a fingerprint and the metabolites that are in the body that will be measured are unique to each person. The volunteers the scientists are searching for to fill the one hundred slots for the study will be healthy males between the ages of 18 and 45.
